MILTON W. SHREVE

MILTON W. SHREVE, Republican, of the First District of Erie county, was born in Venango county, Pa., May 3, 1858.  He received his preparatory education at the Edinboro State Normal School and attended Allegheny College two years and Bucknell University two years.  He was graduated from the latter institution in 1884 and subsequently studied law and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court, the Superior Court, the United States Supreme Court and other federal courts.  He is engaged in the active practice of his profession and is a director of the People's Bank, of Erie, and of several manufacturing corporations.  He was elected District Attorney of Erie county in 1899, serving three years.  He is a well known member of the Republican party and in 1900 was elected as chairman of the county committee of that political organization in Erie county.  In 1906 he was elected a member of the House of Representatives without any material opposition, the Democrats having made no nomination against him and Mr. Shreve having been supported by the Republican and Lincoln parties.  At the session of 1907 he was a member of the Committees on Appropriations, Judiciary General, Judicial Apportionment and Retrenchment and Reform.
